*The OPA Sequoyah Award is considered the most prestigious and competitive award for collegiate journalist to win to date. Cameron University’s “The Cameron Collegian” has competed for the award for almost its entire one hundred years of publishing and this is the first time it has ever been won. It is awarded to the journalist for overall craft based on writing, photography, layout and design and promotional sales. The award was won against major-budget universities such as The University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma, The University of Tulsa and much more.
